Getting good grades can also help your confidence and sense of achievement.

Do I need GCSEs for college?
You may do! But even if you want to do course that needs GCSEs, there are sometimes other ways of getting on to do a course
You’ll need to talk to the college if you want to find out about this. For instance, they might let you take a special test instead.
Do I need GCSEs for the jobs I’m interested in?
GCSEs are a great way of showing employers that you’re bright. But there can be other ways too.
If you haven't got maths GCSE, a reference from a shop where you’ve worked on the till may show that you’re good at numbers.
You can rewrite your CV to highlight your skills rather than your exam grades.
Should I retake my GCSEs now or later?
